Michael says, “People who are waiting for batteries to come down in price and delaying their solar install are paying more for electricity, far outweighing the drop in cost they may incur later,” He further explains. “Simply put, waiting another few years for the price to drop means another few years of unnecessarily high power bills.”

Not Buying From Reputable Locals
It’s likely you’ve received a maildrop – or 10 – about cheap solar deals. Or you’ve seen solar companies advertise ridiculously cheap solar on TV…(you know the ones that splash retired Aussie cricketers all over the place!) These types of companies usually only use subcontractors and do not have a street address where you can visit if you need after sales service. If you’re attracted to this type of solar because this is your budget, we recommend no solar at all. These types of systems just aren’t designed to last and the price reflects that. So buyer beware, when it comes to solar you really do get what you pay for.

There are people out there who are going to try to sell you unnecessary maintenance fees or an inadequate warranty. Always go with someone you trust, and make sure you ask questions and read the fine print before signing anything.”

Choosing the Right Size System for Your Requirements
Without extensive research it’s difficult for you to know what size system and battery you’ll need for your home or business, that’s why it’s always best to chat with an expert first before making your final decision.

Assuming That Your Shaded Roof Means Solar Won’t Work
Solar technology is incredibly savvy these days – even with shade on your roof or a roof facing what you believe might be the wrong way.
“It doesn’t really matter anymore if your panels aren’t all facing north or there’s some obstruction to the sun,” Michael says. “There are some solar panels out there that are so efficient now, you may only lose up to 15 percent of your overall energy production with these factors at play. There’s no doubt, with the cost of power rising substantially every year, it’s definitely still worth the investment.
